I Can't Read

I shifted my locker to the right side of the class. This is what I've been doing every week, I keep changing position of the locker.

My teacher always ask people to read in class. She comes with an old big textbook that has been in the school library for more than 30 years. This week, people from the right could read, next week people from the middle or left.

I always switch to the side that read the other week knowing they won't have to read for another two weeks. I don't like reading because I don't know how to.

One day, the teacher came to the class, she decided to start with the side that read the other week. And unfortunately I was there in that side.

She asked Alice to read page 9, and pointed at me as the next to continue at page 10.

I was troubled, I quickly told her I wanted to urinate and left the class. I stayed outside for a very long time, before I returned someone else had read page 10. I was very happy and relieved.

Few minutes later, she turned to me, "Yes, you! You're back, come and get the textbook. Read page 11."

This time around no more excuse to give. I walked to her table, took the textbook. On my way back to my locker, I tore page 11 and 12, and I shouted, "No page 11!"

The class couldn't continue, and that was the end.
